South Winds Wins Club Participation at Ponca City
This year we did it - first place in club participation at the 6th Annual Corvette Summer Kickoff corvette car show held in Ponca City and hosted by the Cherokee Strip Corvette Club. Last year at this event we tied for second, but this year we had 16, awesome looking corvettes (representing 5 of the 6 generations) entered - I think the club in second had 7 cars. A big thank you goes to all the members who braved a little early morning fog (until we got to "God's country" as our fearless leader proclaimed it) to participate. The drive down and back was spirited and a great deal of fun as well. Club members also brought back about a dozen awards, proving that the "people of the South Winds" (the American Indian interpretation for the word Kansas) have some pretty fine corvettes as well. This is a fantastic event, put on by a great, well organized club. It's an event that we look forward to all year long - the highlight of the year to some of us. Here is a picture of just a few of the fine C5's at the show. Click on the link below the picture for more pics courtesy of Ron W and Kurt G.

Dreary start to an otherwise beautiful day.
