SOUTH WINDS CORVETTE CLUB MEETING MINUTES

1. CALL MEETING TO ORDER - President Darrel Ro.
Meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm.
Dinner reservations were made at Carrabba's by Mark P. for approximately 15 people.

2. WELCOME NEW MEMBERS & GUESTS - President Darrel Ro.
- Guests who were introduced: Lou (Chief) and Carol Gr. signed up to become members this evening.
- Stephanie with the Orpheum Theatre came by to personally thank the club for our participation in the Orpheum Car Show. There were 200 cars parked on the street by the theater. Next years car show is scheduled for May 3rd 2009. Kurt Ge. volunteered to represent our club to discuss improvements for next years show. Please send Kurt any comments you may have regarding improvements. She also talked about some of the upcoming events at the Orpheum.

3. SECRETARY REPORT - given by Dale Gr.
- Last months minutes are posted on the club web site.
- Send Jerry McK. or Dale Gr. an update if your contact or car information change.

4. TREASURER REPORT - given by Janet De.
- Contact Treasurer for details.
- Janet completed moving our bank account to Bank of America.

5. NCCC CLUB GOVERNOR MESSAGE - given by Mike Ro.
- The National Corvette Museum is considering removing the NCCC kiosk. Mike will forward an email to the club about this.
- NCCC is thinking about sending a broadcast email of the Blue Bars magazine to save on publication costs.
- The NCCC convention is in July and will be held in Tulsa this year.

6. VICE PRESIDENT MESSAGE - given by Rick Nu.
- 3M to bring in a technician and hold a buffing clinic for car owners. It will be held at the Vocational Technical school. Jerry McK. to send broadcast email out to members with the details.

7. CLUB COORDINATORS REPORT:

10 people and 8 Corvettes attended the May event to the Firkin and Bull restaurant and pub at 21st & Maize road.

- There are several open months of drive and dines. We are looking for more people to sign up for one.

c) W.A.C.C.C. - given by Bill Pu.
- Lake Afton car show this Sunday.
- Bill thanked our members for helping out at the River Festival car show.
- Bill showed NCM brick that was purchased in memory of Joe Sa. The memorial will be given to Marilyn Sa.

8. TWILIGHT CLASSIC CAR SHOW - Show Date is Sat. Sep. 20 at Central Community Church

9. OTHER BUSINESS / DISCUSSION:
a) LOCAL CAR SHOW UPDATES - given by Mike Wa.

* Reports of upcoming shows of particular interest to our members
- Contact Karla Sh. for information regarding a June 14 show.
- John Ru. drove in from Salina to talk about the upcoming 25th Annual Salina Car Show. He passed out some very nice event flyers. It is a two day event starting June 20th.
- The Ponca City All Corvette car show is this Saturday. Lots of members plan on attending this show. Darrel Ro. will send broadcast email with event information. We would like to support this show because the Cherokee Strip Corvette Club plans to hand out flyers at every opportunity for our show.

b) BRAGGIN' TIME - Brief report on shows attended by members last month.
- Jerry McK. along with 70 other cars participated in the Mound Ridge car show. He brought home 1st place in the 70 - 99 class.
- Kurt Ge. said Jerry McK. is the cause of a 2006 Monterey Red convertible addition to their Corvette family. They had to get a red Corvette because Jerry recently bought a red Corvette.
- Dallas Ke. announced that Darrel Ro. was recently seen driving a "non-white" Corvette.
- Mike Ro. won a trophy at the River Festival car show.

C) MEMBER ANNOUNCEMNENTS
- The 24 hours of La Mans is June 14-15.
- Darrel Ro. got a call from Monte Reins with Air Capitol Corvette Club. Monte would like to bring in a Corvette engine tuning technician. He is looking for a minimum of 10 cars to bring the technician in. Pricing is $400 for an automatic and $374 for a manual transmission. Monte's contact information can be found on the ACCC web site.
- Kurt Ge. will look at sending a patch of our current club logo to the National Corvette Museum. It will be added to the NCM patch board.

10. DRAW FOR DOOR PRIZE - Mark Pa.
Door prize won by Bill Pu.

11. ENTERTAIN MOTION TO ADJOURN MEETING - Adjourned at 7:45 PM.

12. TRADITIONAL CORVETTE CARAVAN TO RESTAURANT
9 Corvettes were present and approximately 16 members including guests enjoyed dinner at Carrabba's.
