South Winds is very happy to welcome the newest addition to our Corvette family - a 2008 Velocity Yellow Z06, owned by Ron and Cathy B. It represents the first C6 Z06 within the club and we are very excited about that. Ron recently described the process of getting the car. I think we can all relate a bit to their story.

It all started when Davis-Moore (where they purchased the car) got in an '07 atomic orange Z06. Ron drove by several times before stopping in to take a look and he somehow resisted the urge to hop behind the wheel. But, as the price started to get closer, Ron finally succumbed to the little devil (his words) on his shoulder saying "DRIVE IT, DRIVE IT". He had called Cathy and told her he was having a very weak moment and that he was going to drive the Z06. As a true car gal, Cathy said "fine if that is what you want" (how cool is that). After they both drove the car, (with Cathy saying it reminded her of her '69 427 vette - again, how cool is that?), Davis-Moore informed them they had just received a velocity yellow '08 with only 735 miles on it.

Well, it seems that Cathy has always wanted a yellow vette and when Davis-Moore had both cars parked side-by-side, neither of them could resist the little devil saying "DO IT, DO IT" and "you are not getting any younger, DO IT, DO IT". The rest is history as they say, but now according to Ron that little devil pops up when he is driving it and says "you are not getting any younger, GET ON IT, GET ON IT, or else LET CATHY DRIVE....SHE'LL GET ON IT"!

I told you most could relate to this story. Congrats Ron and Cathy. They have both been members of South Winds for a bit of time now and they parted with a gorgeous C6 convertible when they bought the Z06. You just know that someone is looking at that car and hearing that little devil say "DO IT, DO IT". To see full size pictures of this awesome Vette, go to the entry below.
