Busy Day for South Winds
Saturday, August 14th was a busy day for South Winds members. The day ended with a cruise hosted by Darrel and Diane R, to the old Stearman airport, where we got to witness low level fly by's and an airplane doing donuts. After some great food and refreshments, we were treated to birthday cake for our members with August birthdays. As we were leaving we also got to witness a couple of good tarmac burnouts, including an 84 footer by Terry P (awesome)! Thanks again to Diane and Darrel for hosting a wonderful event. The day had begun at the Reflection Ridge Retirement Community, where a car show was held. The event included a live band, food and refreshments which made the very hot weather bearable to those that attended. Here are a couple of pics from the event-

Welcome our newest members to the South Winds family. Cathy and Jim D are the proud owners of this sharp Torch Red 2002 C5 Coupe. Although they have been members for some time, we finally had an opportunity to get some pictures.

SWCC Supports BlackTop Nationals
BlackTop Nationals is taking the Midwest by storm this August with a new kind of national automobile event. Combining the best parts of car shows, cruises and motorcycle rallies, this is 4 days of events with something for everyone in the family. South Winds Corvette Club members have agreed to provide volunteer support for the Collector Car Auction and Car Show Registration.

The only thing HOTTER than a bunch of Vettes might have been the weather lately, but even the heat couldn't stop South Winds and NCRS members from showing up in great numbers on Saturday (July 10th) to help support our host dealership Davis-Moore Chevrolet. Here is a bird's eye shot of the event:
